Hats off to Vienna.

I arrived late on Sunday night and had originally planned on heading out midday Tuesday.

It's now officially Thursday and I'm still here.  Going to spend tonight (read: half an hour from now) and tomorrow night as well.

The city is just so damned beautiful.  To the point that I can't even process it sometimes.

And the people -- there's a certain class that's ever present here.  Though it's one that seems to settle into more of a "charm" than a true "elegance."  I wouldn't go so far as to call the feeling homey...though there's definitely an inviting presence in every alley, square and stairwell.

Even with the thick accents and smattering of grossly unnecessary SUVs (that have otherwise been absent since crossing the pond), it's difficult not to walk around and get caught up in the sheer wonder of it...

Traffic glows on the horizon as streetcars rumble down their tracks and branches shutter in the crisp chill of a late night breeze.  I reach deeper into my jacket pockets and press my chin against the collar.  The shops have been closed for hours, but the street continues to smell fresh -- of long conversations over coffee...and dough being rolled by floured hands.  Of pages turned in old books and gazes paid to leather bags.  Of lilac bouquets and candles being lit.  Of yesterday's discoveries and tomorrow's dreams.  Of hope and excitement.

I close my eyes and try to breathe it all in -- try to feel infinite.
