Today was a bit more of a relaxed day with all of us venturing roughly an hour outside of Tokyo to a small seaside town called Kamakura, it was so quiet and peaceful and a nice change of pace from the bustling hub that is the city!!

The thing that grabbed me about this town was the immense amount of tiny shrines scattered between the houses, the gray sand on the beach, the large tsunami warning signs and then of course the warning of eagles sign, yes thats right I said eagles. This little town if you look up to the skies has eagles flying around absolutely everywhere and you can hear their beautfiul sqwarks from quite a distance.

I recommend anyone to visit Kamakura as its a nice and totally beautiful break from the city and particularly if your anything like me I love the ocean!!!

The night to follow was a very interesting one we all ventured to the Musashi University where we listened to a talk from the designer of the Shinkansen (bullet train) computer system designer. It also gave us the opportunity to meet some international students from the university, all from various nationalities and backgrounds.

We then moved on to a small little restaurant not far from the uni where we ate, socialised and had all the drink we wanted!!! This seems to be a common offer in Japan. It was then a chance to head home and sleep as for some of us an early start in the morning!!
