well they say in europe they have watches and in africa they have time, well here in the land of trini, i have lost the concept of both.... i could say sorry for being a shocking correspondant, and it would be the truth. but im sure you are sick of hear that excuse so i will just cut to the chase.
by reading my last entry i was put into a mild state of shock, because i thought that i had written updates more often... obviously not!
well in some ways not MUCH has happened since the last update... but for your sakes i spose i should try and recall some details. the first thing that pops into mind is my adventure of crewing on a delivery of a chater catamaran from the BVI to Trinidad... via Margarita (Venesuala). the boat was a 50 ft Admiral cat, she was used for charter in Tortola BVI and was being brought to trini for the hurricane season and a bit of an overhaul. the trip also served as a renewal for my visa in trini, while the remaining family were to sail to grenada and back.
i flew up early on the monday morning and spent two days in tortola adjusting to the boat and getting her ready to sail south. the skippers name was charlie and towered above anyone that stood beside him. he was another jaapie (slang for south african and pronounced YAAAPI) that was attached to the sailing life, and who was the skipper for the charters too. we left on the wednesday into a south easterly wind of about 20knts and a brisk sea
