Arrived in San Francisco just in time for the five o'clock gridlock. Interstates, side streets were backed up everywhere. Several months ago a tractor-trailer tanker wrecked and burned on one of the major interstate bridges just on the San Francisco side of the Bay Bridge, causing all other already packed freeways to take on additional traffic. Nightmare driving here! We made it to Rudy's Can't Fair Cafe and had dinner and waited for traffic to clear. Just down the street from Rudy's are Pixar Animation Studios. Saw a lot of Pixar employees at the cafe Drove across Bay Bridge into the city, not too bad after dinner, past Chinatown and on to the hotel. Cow Hollow Inn is on Lombard Street, between downtown and the Golden Gate Bridge Nice older local hotel with super nice staff. Great view of city on one side, SF Bay on the other.We'll be seeing some sights today and moving on down the coast later this afternoon.
