We made it to Miami!!! We're 3 blocks from the pier and now about 15 hours from boarding the ship for 7 days of relaxation.
We got here around 4:30 Valpo time and Scott and Nancy got here at 5:45. We just got back from dinner where we had some good laughs, but DAMN IT’S HOT here! The restaurant had to have been close to 90 degrees inside, but the food was good and we laughed a lot, talked about what we were going to be doing the next week, and did mind the heat… much.
btw… one of the reasons I hated leaving Sarasota to move to Tucson when the White Sox moved because that was the one time a year I got FRESH fish right from the Gulf of Mexico. Well, we’re on the ocean side right now, but still… the snapper I had tonight was excellent. You don’t get that at Costco!
Michelle is still fighting her cold. She’s already out cold in bed. She tried to sleep in the car today, but wasn’t successful for more than 10 minutes here and there. I drove the full 10 hours hoping she would get some sleep, but it wasn’t in the cards for her. Hopefully, she’ll feel better when we get up tomorrow and see the ship down the street waiting for us to board.
The drive was OK; oftentimes boring but we made it here safe. I’m pooped, so I’m calling it a night too. Tomorrow at this time, we will have been on the ocean for over 4 hours… and I’ll most likely be on the balcony. Maybe, we’ll even have some pictures to try to send. We may not write again until Monday, so keep watching for that mail that says "DO NOT REPLY to a Hello from Mark and Michelle!"
