Ok so...here's what everything means:
Sam's sayings:
1. Have a touch on your bag = Hold your bags close.
2. Be jealous of your bag = Watch out for your bag (so no one steals it).
3. We are summarizing.= We're almost done. (He says this about dinner a lot).
4. Let's throw our legs very fast! = Hurry up, let's walk faster!
5. Show some strokes! = Get on the dance floor and bust a move!
6. It's as if he's peeked into your pants... = He is very nosy.
7. I need to go for a short call. = I need to use the bathroom & I hope it won't take long.
(I have yet to hear anyone announce the need to go for a long call. I think I'll try it out just for fun).
8. Is your wallet smiling? = Do you have enough money?
9. I've almost made an unexpected landing! = I almost stepped in a pile of something I really didn't want to step in!
Ruth, my host mom, also says some funny things:
1. I saw a cloud but I dont ever know when it will work. = I saw a cloud but I can't tell if it will rain.
2. (At the table) Please pass me the mingling stick. = Please pass me the stirring spoon.

About those sayings . . . .
I didn't do too badly on them, but I never quite figured out the 'summarizing' one or the 'peeked into your pants' one. I hope you can share some more of these with us. I know we use lots of idioms here that probably sound just as strange to people for whom English is a second language.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Love, Meemaw
