Lausanne – Nancy
Nancy Etap 29€
Fine Hot 31 degrees

We headed north to Nancy.  We decided to buy a Swiss Army Knife for Amanda so stopped at Vallorbe just before the border.  We travelled through some pretty farming communities, crops, cows, sheep etc.  As we were off the regular tourist route theses villages are in the natural state (many crumbling).  We made our way to Domremy la Pucelle, the birthplace of Joan of Arc.  We had a look in their museum and the house where she was born and also in the small church.  Malcolm's school is named in honour of Joan of Arc’s birthplace.  As we hadn’t booked any accommodation for tonight we headed to the Etap at Nancy (a day earlier than planned) and fortunately they had a vacancy so checked in and went to check out the large shopping centre nearby.  We bought dinner, dessert and breakfast and went back to our room to decide on the next section of travelling.  We have now decided to stay another night and will explore Nancy tomorrow so did some washing.
