29th June
Prague Sightseeing
Early drizzle then fine 25 degrees

After a nice breakfast at the Pension we caught the metro into Prague Old Town to continue our sightseeing. This time we found the marketplace but are finding the prices in Prague are much more expensive than last time we were here.  Next we watched the Astronomical clock (parts of which date to 1410) strike the hour with the 12 apostles passing the windows, the cock crowing and the skeleton pulling on the bell.  We walked through some of the backstreets, only a little lost, until we came to the river and following it back to The Charles Bridge where we crossed the river.  The bridge wasn't as crowded as yesterday but there is quite a bit of renovation happening. The river is quite high due to the recent rain.  On the other side we located the Lennon Wall, apparently where John Lennon did some graffiti and which is now covered with more of the same...pretty tacky.  We had some lunch and crossed the river again, this time walking back to the clock tower.  We decided to pay the entry of 100 CZK each (about $A6) to get the lift to the top for the fabulous views of the city.  We spent some time here taking it all in.  Some more sightseeing and then we caught the metro back to the pension to rest the weary legs for a while.  We bought some takeaway Chinese food from a restaurant across the street a little later, which we enjoyed back in our nice room with a glass of wine.
