Where I stayed
Welcome to my friend Alexis from Paris who has joined me in Mendoza!
The region around Greater Mendoza is the largest wine producing area in Latin America. As such, Mendoza is one of nine cities worldwide in the network of Great Capitals of Wine (Bordeaux, Bilbao, Cape town, Christchurch, Florence, Mayence, Mendoza, Porto, San Francisco).
Mendoza is also the starting point for a fabulous drive to cross the Andes and go to Santiago de Chile.
The Andes are the world's longest continental mountain range. It is a continuous chain of highland along the western coast of South America. The range is over 7,000 km long, 200 km to 700 km wide and of an average height of about 4,000 m. The Andes mountains extend over seven countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela.
