Birthday and the beginning of spring break

With the exception of the fact that turning twenty one in Morocco is fruitless, and that I had a midterm exam until about ten thirty pm, this birthday was very nice. I never expected the friends I have met here to organize such nice things. Of course Karim was the grand coordinator; he cooked a quite decent pasta dinner, fruit and yogurt and an awesome birthday cake. The patisserie in which he bought the cake from was actually closed when he went to get it because he had to wait until I left the apartment to go to my exam, so he had someone go upstairs and wake the people up to give him the cake. Sadie gave me this righteous scarf/towel/anything you want it to be and some soap that has been aged for eight years; both from Kenya. I really did not expect such nice gestures from everyone but I was pleasantly surprised :) Great start to break.
