Towering Tarangire... with its hundreds of elephants and Baobab trees.

In the morning, we met our new guide Mosses (pronounced Mo-zis). We spent part of the day with Libby, our new friend! She is in 6th grade, like me, and is only a year older. Her jeep broke down, so Libby and her family drove with us. She told us lots of stories about things that happened to her. One of the stories was about a elephant. Libby and her family were in the jeep with their guide, and there was a elephant in the road. It went towards them, and rammed their jeep! The elephant was about to ram them again, but they sped away. I would be really scared if that happened to me. Elephants are strong enough to push cars over, but I guess that elephant just didn't have it in him. The night in Tarangire was our first night camping. It was a little scary, because even though there was a gate around the campsite, you never know when a wild animal will be outside your tent. At night, you were not allowed to go to the bathroom alone, just to be safe. It took some time getting used to the toilets they had. Instead of toilets like in the U.S. where you can sit down, it was just a small hole in the ground that you had to hover over. I bet the natives have really strong leg muscles!
