After leaving Halifax, we headed to North Sydney to take the ferry to Newfoundland. It was a comfortable ferry, but being overnight, the seats get a little uncomfortable when you want to sleep. That being said, it was a good ride, and we were out on the decks to see the approaching land ahead. Port-Aux-Basques at dawn is one of the most beautiful sights out there! So serene, so peaceful... P.A.B. is ridiculously small, but is a very quaint little place. The people are so friendly and wave to you from their pick-up trucks. We had breakfast in a diner by the water and headed to the beach to laze around all day!  We were a little surprised to find that we were sharing the beach with wild horses... but they stayed far enough and didn't seem to mind our presence too much. We enjoyed the ocean, the sun, and our makeshift campfire all day long... it was a glorious end to an amazing trip.

Of course, there is still so much to see.  Next time I will spend more time in the Rockies, I will experience Jasper and Banff to the fullest, I will visit each territory, travel accross Newfoundland and Labrador and explore Cape Breton. Canada is such a vast, rich country, and I am excited about a lifetime's worth of exciting travels here. However, this road trip was definitely a great experience and allowed me to learn more about my heritage and the country I love so dearly. Cheers.
