After another one of those lovely bus rides (that always take an hour longer than they initially say, seems common here in asia...) we arrived in Singapore and took a taxi to the same kindhearted cousin who lent us his flat in Penang, who just happens to live in Singapore with his family, and offered us a room yet again. And of course we were most grateful for this!!

After a nice home cooked meal (we're not too used to that anymore so our tummies were very happy with this!) we headed off to the Singapore Zoo for the famous night safari. This was a really cool experience, getting to see loads of nocturnal animals, including lions, tigers, elephants, porcupines, otters, owls and many other exotic animals which I am far too tired to remember all the names of. They also put on a quite funny show, and there was one point when they pulled out a massive python snake from a box under the stage and one of the men in the audience shrieked like a 5 year old girl! After the Zoo we thought it would be quite simple to just get a taxi back, but our driver barely spoke English and just started driving in our general direction after we had given him the address of the house. It took 3 calls to his team leader and endless rounds around the blocks near the house until we safely got back. Only good thing was that the guy was nice enough to turn of the taximeter when he realised he was lost the first time...

Today we started the day with a trip to the botanical gardens, strolled around and watched all the people doing tai chi in many corners of the park. Of course we also paid a visit to downtown Singapore and saw most of the famous places, colonial district, Chinatown (we have seen a few of them by now..) and the nice promenade along the river. We also visited the strange statue near the water of a lion and fish combined. Did they by any chance visit the reagge club and smoke something funny when designing this??? =)

Back at the house we were served a lovely barbeque and then went to pack our bags yet again!! Tomorrow we head off for Perth, and we are very excited! Back with more updates soon!
