The hardest thing for me right now is switching between two languages. Poor Tracy will ask a question of me, directly after Ive been speaking Portuguese with someone else and it does take me a minute to switch over and I see this look of confusion on her face as I struggle to answer.

She is doing great in the lessons with Anderson. However unfortunately Mariana has collected a heap of beginners to train with us. They are of course very very nice people but the classes are really simplified so they are good but not quite the workout I expected. To accommodate for it Anderson does give me a lot of personal attention and does correct my technique and push me to do better but I can see he finds it frustrating too.

Although having said that we did do some Frevo yesterday which was great. A real sweat fest and very different from the Frevo I have learned. The technique with the hips is different and allows for more definition of the foot position from the tip of the toes to the heel. Its really cute actually and Im looking forward to doing more.

I do not miss Flaviano one iota. Let me repeat that one iota. And I`m glad that madness has finished - as Im sure a few others are....

To top it off. Loi has been the salve for my wounds, we get on , just get on... FULL STOP... and Tracy says its cute to watch us together as clearly we are very into each other and just talk and laugh and enjoy the essence of each other. Tracy also says he is a lovely man, easy to get along with. He had both of us in stitches the other day telling jokes, stories about the area and relating naturally and easily to us both.

Weve talked a lot about our connection and how it was when I left and how much we missed each other and then how both of us let go not expecting anything. Then in seeing each other again it being as if no time had passed at all....

It is going to be interesting because for a few reasons he does have a significant other in his life, its complicated and I dont want to get into it too much but they had an arrangement, as friends, that if they reached a certain age theyd have a child together, as friends. It was Lois story and his revelations last year that saved me from doing the same thing. I think she likes me fine enough but potentially Im a threat to their existing relations, also when her son fell asleep in my arms and then didnt want to go back to her, well that would offend any mother. I joked with Loi afterwards that 50% of his son was him, and Aruande was definately following in his fathers footsteps. We giggled a bit about that.

It seems though that even though their relationship is clear and I know about her and she about me, she is not happy that I am here!. Well I get it!. Tracy said she could understand it too, that you never really like the one that comes along after you..., Anways...

Ive seen him every day which has been great. We chill and laugh and cuddle and talk about stuff. We decided late afternoon yesterday not to do the dance class together but to wait till he had his regular afternoon lesson. When Tracy decided not to come to the regular lesson, and I found out she (I forget her name) would be there as well, I dropped out. We decided together that me being around and in her face is very stressful for her and neither of us want to cause pain to anyone. She was fine at first with me being around but I think now its not so easy for her, so well just manage it better.

Loi has promised to help buy clothes and get good prices for me for a full Olinda style carnaval presentation for Brazil festival and he would also like to come out and teach workshops and help prepare the festival. As you all know I have been shopping around for who I would ask to do this job and it has to be him!. He lives here, hes a mestre here and it is just such a pleasure to work with him plus to work and create with a good friend is a joy. I have just made a copy of a DVD he made for me of him teaching all the dances, so I can train to it whilst Im in Australia and away from here. How sweet is that!.

I need to work out how to be a bit nicer to Tracy, Im finding it hard to translate and be a guide and still relax and have a holiday and unfortunately Im not describing it all that well to Missy. Also having PMS up till recently doesnt help anything. I think I will shout her dinner tonight. We talked about it a bit and because were both feircly independent it means we have to call space and time frequently from each other to not be in each others pockets. We do fine with it. Well Tracy is very gracious with it, but I need to improve in my style. I will.

Anderson has asked me to do a show with him tomorrow night, which is a bit nervewracking but will be fun. Sylvia has measured us up for Chameleon parade and she asked us if she could make us the $R200 costume not the R$90 costume. Since they have been having a hard time we agreed and also donated a bit extra. Our costumes are going to be bright red with amazing headdresses. She has also bought us shoes etc and the entire costume is ours to take home. Our costumes are also being made for Obalaio and today I need to inform Anderson that we will parade with Nacao Pernambuco as well. Mariana doesnt want to this year so it will be Tracy and I only.

Anyways, two languages, two worlds. One love.
