The best decision was to buy a BritRail pass so that I could tour about the countryside without care. So equipped, I head to Waterloo station in the morning to take a train to Salisbury--close to Stonehenge.
Right outside the station I luck upon the bus to Stonehenge and take a 20 minute ride directly to the site. When I first spied the famous stones, I could almost hear Leonard Nimoy whispering into my ear except I was distracted by the sound of lorries buzzing about the two highways that fork around the site!
Did a brisk 30 minute tour around the stones and so that I could catch the same bus back (otherwise its an hour still the next) but did not neglect the obligatory gift shop. Then its back the train station on the way to Bath Spa.
