I went down to Georgia to spend some quality time with my folks.  Was surprised when the pilot announced that the temperatures were in the 40s--I was expecting much milder temperatures.

My parents live just north of Atlanta in Gwinnett County and besides eating my mom's cooking and running errands with my dad, there really is not much to do here.  So I have been catching up on some reading and sleep as well as going on a few runs.  And when I am out, driving about and killing time at the shopping centers and malls with the big box retailers, I tell you that sometimes I don't know whether or not I am in Paramus or Duluth.

I did take my mom and her friend down to the new Georgia Aquarium--apparently the largest in the world (at least until Dubai sets their mind to it).  The founder of Home Depot must have sold lots of hammers to have donated such a structure although I was disappointed to find that each of the exhibits within the Aquarium each had their own corporate sponsors with garishly displayed logos--it was almost as if I was in the Mall of Georgia surrounded by a bunch of fishtanks!  Must be getting quite jaded in my old age...
