Where I stayed
Temp. -9°C
Started the day walking around the main shopping streets, not just to look for things to buy but get my bearings on exactly where I was & what I wanted to see. I quickly worked out that Stockholm was a much bigger city than the others I've visited this trip, with places spread over many islands. So for the first time this trip I decided to buy a ticket for a sightseeing bus tour. 24hrs ticket & I could get on & off when I wanted. The good old red double decker bus that you see in major cities everywhere. Complete one way the tour took 2hrs so for the first time I just stayed for the entire trip & figured out what I wanted to do for tomorrow.
The rest of the late afternoon I walked around & took photographs of street Christmas decorations at night. I have to give Stockholm the award for the most bright & colourful decorations I've seen all trip. The photographs really don't do them justice, as they need to be experienced with your own eyes.
Despite my searching in both Oslo & Stockholm, I've not managed to find an antique shop like I saw in Bergen. The only antiques I've seen have been in those type of shop where the items are placed neatly & dusted regularly & they check your bank balance before you're allowed to enter. Sorry no enamel signs, except the ones I saw in that trendy cafe in Oslo, but they weren't for sale.
