This is however one piece of equipment that I didn't use. But to my surprise and joy, many of the local people in the north of Finland and Norway use a wooden sleigh. They kind of look like the image below but even more simplified. They use it in the same way you would use a push scooter. Kick with your foot and then slide. Obviously they need good snow cover so I assume that's why I didn't see any south.
I nifty piece of equipment I thought and cute to boot!
