Another exciting late night.....NOT! 11.30pm and I'm doing domestic duties, my washing. But I'd rather do it now then waste my day time. But to make matters worse, wireless internet doesn't work in the laundry room. I'm bored out of my mind, hence, taking stupid photos of myself. I'm grateful though that the ship has a laundry room because it's way better than washing clothes by hand which I have been doing.

Bizarre moment. Trying to fold washing while the ship is going up and down quite significantly. Rough seas tonight. My centre of gravity is being challenged.

Tomorrow is on the horizon though and the ship stops in port for 3hrs. Yay! Walking and exploring day.

Thinking of all of you back home with yet another shocking hot day. I have the Melbourne Bureau of Meteorology saved as a favourite (I always use it at home because I never watch the news). Each day I check the Melbourne temperature and compare it to here, and I'm sorry to say that I'm glad I'm here. Give me -20C over +40C because all I have to do is add on more layers of clothing, whereas hot is just damn hot. Almost makes me want to relocate to the northern hemisphere :) The tour guide said yesterday that they are noticing Global Warming here. He said that this was a mild winter with not a lot of snow & last summer they had a heatwave day of 28C. You can imagine his face when another Aussie on the tour mentioned the 40+ but then again we are talking about Arctic conditions & I can imagine 28 would be extreme.

Finally finished drying at 12.30am. Good night

Yep today was a shocker hot day! Grass fire on Old Menzies Creek Road and we decided to take the dogs and evacuate to Berwick for the day. It was quickly contained, probably deliberately lit.

It sounds like a ridiculous summer. I hope it runs out of heat before I get home but I know that is wishful thinking. If you ever need a refuge, especially Total Fire Ban, you can use my place. It has a working air conditioner in the main room, a queen and single bed, and obviously the dogs can go in the backyard. It's great that you can spend time with mum and dad, but if it's one of those nights with fire threats, feel free to use Lyndal Court.

By the way, thanks for all the comments you have been making in this blog. It reminds me of home, and it's nice to know someone is reading it.
