Where I stayed
I am always stunned by the diffirent architectures of Barcelona but still, strangely, this city has never been my favourite.
We checked out from the hotel in Girona and had a quick breakfast on the same street as the hotel where I found out that the spaniards drink a REALLY REALLY thick chocolate unlike the parisian, it was so thick that I had to ask for more milk.
The train station of Girona is very new and modern. There are trains running between Girona-Barcelona and vice versa almost every hour, some are normal some are express which costs a little more expensive. It took about 1.15 hours to escort us to BNA-SANTS - Barcelona, the price was 6.45€ per seat
At the train station we decided to buy a 'T-DIA 1 zones' ticket which costs 5.25€ this ticket allow us to navigate everywhere in Barcelona with no limits for 1 day. If not, there is another option is to get a 'T10' which costs 6.90€ ticket giving 10 trips without day limits until you use them up. All the trains in Barcelona are equiped with air-con which is great and once inside we really didn't want to get off as the temparature inside the station was awfully hot, we doubted why they didn't ventilate more so that the air can go through.
The hotel we stayed called Auto Hogar (68€ with BF with Expedia), a kind of parking+hotel that we had to walk through the parking to get to the room. The hotel was not so bad located, pretty good location near the M░ Paral-lel from which we took 15 mins walk to La Rambla, Barcelona's most famous street dotting with artists, flowers shops, souvenir shops, restaurants, we could find everything here
It was a tiring walking day we though that we would have some Tapas with some Sangria drink. We ended up in a restaurant fronting the cathedral near Portaferrissa street where we end of with about 50€ of the bill which was EXPENSIVE for spainish standard, came back to the hotel room drunk! I fell asleep right away while Sylvain suffered the noice of the guests on the upper floor partying, it was so noisy that he had to call the security to verify. Result! he had a shit night...
Goodbye Barcelona...see you soon (maybe!)
