After having breakfast and visiting one more museum in Safranbolu, we were supposed to go back to Istanbul... but no!  The tour guide said we were going to Amasra, a town on the coast of the Black Sea!  I was really not happy about this.  At all.  The schedule said we were departing at 9am, which means we would be in Istanbul by 5pm at the latest.  I had already made plans because it is Stan's last night in Istanbul.  I wanted to hang out with him and have a nice dinner or something, you know??  I couldn't even call him to tell him I was going to over 4 hours late!  The teaching assistant took off on a bus because she had to be at the airport by 7pm.  I asked her if I could come with her, but the bus had no more seats.  I was really upset and regretted coming on this BS overnight trip at all, but I had no control over things... so I decided to just enjoy the experience.  We were in Amasra by noon-ish where we were hearded into a fish restaurant for a 20 lira fixed menu, consisting of two types of fried fish, salad, drink, and ghetto dessert.  A few of us decided against the fixed menu and got chicken and meatballs.  Stephanie was like, "When else in your life are you going to have fish in Amasra?"  Then she threw up lumps of fish bones onto her plate.

After that, we walked over to the castle, took pictures, went down to the sea, took pictures.  It was a very scenic place although I am not sure I would come out of my way for a visit...  okay, I was just really bitter.  Everyone knew this and made fun of me.  Whatever!  Everyone else was getting really antsy about this whole trip, and we were only too glad to be back in Istanbul... at 9:30pm.  I thought Stan may have gone out with the OSI kids, but he was still in the dorm (yay).  I invited him to come out to 360 with my friends, but he said he was tired.  So I decided to just hang out with him in the dorm.  360 is in the middle of Istikal and supposedly has a really nice view of the city.  It is a bar-restaurant during the day and a bar-club at night.  I was kind of sad to miss it, but hey, I can go there sometime next week if I REALLY want to go.  Whereas, Stan is leaving tomorrow.  Blah.
