Bayfield is a small community on the south shore of Lake Superior. It is the gateway to the Apostle Islands. It is "Where the Water Meets the Soul." Bayfield is also the Berry Capital of Wisconsin. It is home to the largest raspberry and blueberry farms in the state.

Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is comprised of 21 Islands and 12 miles of mainland shoreline. The Apostles' have been formed by and are subject to the majesty and fury of the Lake Superior. Sandstone sea caves and cliffs were formed by centuries of freezing, thawing, ice, wind, and wave action. These Islands offer the nation’s finest collection of historic lighthouses (6) as well as some of the most pristine sandscapes in the Great Lakes Region. World-class sailing, power boating, kayaking, scenic cruises, full-service marinas, sport fishing, and swimming can be found on this Great Lake.
