Socks was born on May 10, 1995 in Tallahassee, FL. He was our daughter's cat - a "college cat." We adopted him in 1996.
In 2007, Socks was diagnosed with Leukemia which was in remission. However, in the past ten days he hadn’t been feeling well. An ultrasound revealed that his Leukemia had spread to Lymphoma. Three veterinarians including Dr. Rossi from MA suggested that we put Socks to sleep since he had 3-6 months max to live and to avoid any further suffering. On their advice, Socks died peacefully in mommy’s arms on October 28, 2009 in College Station, TX.
People who knew Socks would all agree that he was one spoiled cat. How could anyone not love him? He was a lap cat who constantly purred and was always at the door to greet us when we came home. When he sensed that we were sad, he would sit on our lap and purr.
Socks loved to camp with us and to explore each new campsite. His nose would go a mile a minute sniffing everything. He covered 30 states with us.
Socks: thank you for giving us 14 wonderful years. We’ll always remember you lining our front steps with dead field mice; putting your paws in the snow and running back in the house; climbing into bed with us every night. You never gave us a hard time.
You’ll always be remembered and loved!
Hugs and kisses,
Mom, Dad and Michelle
