In 2009, the Dallas Cowboy football stadium moved from Irving, Texas to Arlington, Texas. The stadium's 1,290 foot steel arches are the most recognizable feature on the Arlington horizon. This Stadium is now the largest in the NFL. It features a retractable roof, two 63,000 square foot panels which can be opened or closed in just 12 minutes and the largest Trinitron in the NFL. The stadium has a seating capacity of 80,000 for football games and can seat as many as 100,000 for special events. All seats are individual seats with seat backs (no bleacher seats). It sits on 75 acres and is large enough to fit the Statue of Liberty, inside the structure, even with the retractable roof closed. Many modern amenities are found in this stadium: 2 high definition replay/scoreboards; 200 luxury corporate suites; chandeliers; and 30,000 parking spaces. Estimated cost to build the Dallas Cowboy Stadium is $1.4 billion (2x Indy Football Stadium) of which $400 million was the Trinitron.
Because the Dallas Cowboys have been so successful and popular, they are often called "America’s Team". The famous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are partly to thank for this. Pictures inside their lockers are attached. In addition, this will be the venue for the college Cotton Bowl football game for the next 13 years.
