Liberty Memorial, a monument to those who served in WWI, has been recognized by the U.S. Congress as "Americas National WW1 Museum." The tower, standing 217 feet above its base, offers elevator rides to the top for a bird's eye view of Kansas City, Missouri. An eternal flame lights the top of the tower. It is the largest WWI monument in the U.S. Completed in 1926; the museum complex was restored in 2002

Arthur Bryant’s BBQ legend was founded in Kansas City, MO in the early 1920’s, by Charlie Bryant, Arthur’s older brother. When Charlie died, Arthur took over and moved the BBQ restaurant to the corner of 18th and Brooklyn. It remains a nationally known eatery today.
