Where I stayed
No adventures to speak of today, just transer of our accommodation from our idyllic, palm lined paradise at Yeppoon to our new paradise at Bargara Beach, home for the next 2 nights.
We managed to get away from Yeppoon around 9am, filling up for fuel in Rockhampton an hour or so later.
The drive was fairly long and a little on the tense side with the roads a bit narrow, predominantly single lane and trucks charging up and down this particular section of the Bruce Highway. For a time there we were tailgated by a semi trailer who insisted that our 100km/h in a 100 zone was too slow, at one point pulling over to the oncoming lane and flashing his lights.
Eventually I found a slip lane to get out of his way and let the maniac pass. He clearly chose to ignore the numerous white crosses (I estimate at least 20) dotted by the side of the road, this stretch of the Bruce Highway obviously one that has seen its share of tragedy. Signs warning motorists of the dangers of head on collisions seem to have made no impact on some people.
This aside, it was a fairly 'vanilla' day - pack up, drive, a couple of toilet stops, arrive at new caravan park by 2pm, set up, grocery shopping, cook dinner, relax.
Both Wendy and I managed to squeeze in some exercise amongst all that and Mitchell and I had a quick kick of the footy down at the surf beach before dinner.

A well deserved rest after the journey. Clare said ''Treat yourself to a pint.''
I love that sunrise shot Snowy
