I was expecting some good company to join me for the weekend, so I took to the hills and towers of Prague on my first day to capture the expansive beauty of this city and make my small transition away from beloved Italia.
My accommodation was fantastic, but required a bit of thinking in order to navigate toward the city centre. This doesn't bother me because the best way for me to figure stuff out, is to get lost. Better stated as: start walking, move toward water, gravitate to where the people are, find a piazza, a square, a platz.
My day treated me to breathtaking views, surprise markets, lively streets, and the arrival of great company
Prague marked the tipping point of my trip- moving from internal to external. First half to second half. Alone to companion. Beginning to end.
My time in the city was not what I had anticipated (read as: Absinthe, underground music, sunrises and hangovers). The experience was shaped by where I had come from, who I was lucky to share the journey with, and probably (mostly) because I wasn't part of a 20 person stag party made up of Rugby players from England.
I wouldn't change a thing.
