Where I stayed
What I did
A few weeks previous I said to myself finish your trip with a bang. So it seemed only right and fitting that a day at Universal Studios as I headed south and home was fitting.
I scored a hotel 10 mins walk from the main gate, which eventually arrived at after another delayed United Airways flight! Ah I had better service in South America and the states prides itself on good service... anyway rant over...
I hustled to the Universal Studios in the morning, because through happy chance Sarah was working with Disney and Universal that week and was driving to South Beach for a well earned weekend off and said she'd give me a ride south! Nice.
Unfortunately about a third of the park was closed for building works and generally speaking I was surprised by how small it was. There was a lot packed in though and the city-scapes were really cool, especially when you round the corner of downtown "Chicago" to find the Blues Brothers doing a live gig in the street!
A lot of the rides were quite dated, which I guess is why they were doing the building works, but the Beetle Juice Rock Concert was cool and so were the Men in Black and ET rides.
4ish... I was back at the hotel and Sarah picking me up for our 4 hour drive south. Remarkably I stayed awake all the way, even after a massive KFC (I hadn't eaten all day so I could squeeze eveything in!). Thanks Sez for driving. :)
