the border was a nightmare, so confusing and no directions or instructions. we met a guy called kevin whilst waiting by the side of the road for our bus and he was headed for monteverde too so we all trvaled together. after an hour or so in teh queues on nicuargua side, had to trek over to costa rica side where we waited in a bus line accidently for half an hour before realising it wasnt immigrationa dn then finally finding the right queue adn getting oursleves legally entered into costa rica. the queue for the buses was sooooo long so we split a taxi to the next town hoping to find a bus there. ended up havingthree buses pass us at the bus stop cos they physically couldnt fit any more people on, which is quite a statement in central america where there is ALEAYS room for more people no matter how jammed the bus is. so we got another taxi to the next town, libreria where we had another long cammed ride to canas. was 5ish by the time we got to canas and there was no way we'd be able to do the four hour journey to monteverde at that time and we were all hot and tired adn so over travleing so split an awesome hotel room with pool and cable and jacuzzi and got chinese and drank beers and stayed up all night chatting by the pool.next day we had to leave for tileran and then catch the three hour bus to monteverde, sure there is an easier way to get o monteverde but for us it was the biggest mission. bus was super bumpy and tiny tiny seats for little tiny legged people so we were all pretty relieved when at 4pm we finally rolled into santa elena, just down the rode from monteverde. kevin had one more ngiht before he had to leave so we all went and did the night tour in the jungle and saw sloths adn racoons and frogs and tarantulas and porcupines. it was really fun.long day and so were in bed by 9pm which is becoming a worrying habit for me and becks, we cant seem to hack the pace any more now that we are 'do-ers'. (i.e. not lazing around ont eh ebach all day but actually doing lots of stuff).
