Okay Ohio, I see what you're doing here. You offer great weather, nice roads, quaint towns and beautiful houses. You're not the type to spoil though, Ohio, I know that. You had to give us some headwind to remind us that it's not all fun and games in the Buckeye state. That's okay with me. Even the rolling terrain is tolerable when the weather's not too hot. I know you have a nasty side and I appreciate that you showed your nice side first to all of my new riding friends from all over the world. We promise we won't spend too long crossing... so if you could just keep things nice for the next three days we'd all really appreciate it. Besides, why would you want to leave a bad impression on all of your visitors? You don't want to make us look bad do you, Ohio? You don't want our friends to think we're dumb for living in your communities, do you? No, I didn't think so. You're a very nice state, much better than Indiana, Illinois and Missouri. Everyone agrees.

Now don't be getting a big head, Ohio. You're no Colorado - not yet anyways. You've got three days to prove yourself; are you up to it? Can you improve on today? Maybe a strong tailwind? A big tractor to follow, perhaps? Rumor has it New York and Vermont are going to be way prettier. I think some of my riding friends have their heads in the clouds, dreaming of the days they'll be out of Ohio and onto the Atlantic. Maybe you could bring them back with a great lunch place? The Dish in Abeline, KS is in first place right now, but I think you've got what it takes to snatch that prize. Today you showed us that your people are among the nicest. JL gave us surprise water and gatorade 90 miles in, at the exact place we were losing interest in the ride. That was very nice of him, I can tell he's one of your own, Ohio. He also took us out for ice cream at the Farmhouse, and it was delicious. That's plus one; you're stock has been rising all day.

Even your employees are nice and helpful Ohio. I've never had a faster or easier experience at the BMV than I did renewing my license today. If it wasn't for that pesky red-eye reduction flash that makes me close my eyes half-way every time, it would have been a perfect trip to a government office. Way to go, Ohio.

I have high hopes for the next three days, Ohio. Please don't let me down. I've missed you dearly and our reunion has been better than I had ever dreamed it would be.

With newfound love,
Stephen

OK..so I am pretty sure if you had sweet-talked Indiana she would have given you great travel weather both of the two days you spent pedaling across our amazing state. Sure wish you guys great tailwinds for a few days. You are all overdue!! LOVE YOU GUYS!
