Our third day with the bikes involved us driving north again in search of Mag-aso Falls. This turned out to be a really nice site. We also stopped when we saw a small sign indicating a natural spring and cave. This stop was not very impressive but it was a little surprising to find the locals doing their laundry in the spring water coming out of the cave mouth.
Driving back along the little rocky road leading to the spring/cave, we passed near a small roadside "store" with some locals hanging around out front. These locals called to us as we drove by, so we stopped to see what was up. This turned into a really entertaining and friendly get together with the local guys offering to share their communal coconut wine with us (see the video!). We only drank a little as we still had quite a ways to drive home on the bikes, but we had some nice chit chat and learned that these guys meet up every Sunday afternoon to get drunk at the same spot. So after refreshing ourselves and promising we'd come back by on a Sunday afternoon if we were ever in Bohol again, we headed on down the road. Great times!
On our drive back to Tagbilaran City, we stopped at a local open air seafood market just to check things out. We ended up eating at a tiny hole-in-the-wall place located in the back of the market. They had a bunch of filipino dishes set out on a table and you just pointed at what you wanted and a lady would dish it up. Got a few pics of eating.
Shortly after driving a little ways further, we saw a large building advertising a cockfighting event that was going on. We pulled over to check it out. Pics below plus Mike has posted some comments and a video of the event on another blog site. Link: Mike's cockfighting video
