After two months back stateside for the winter holidays, I returned to Shanghai. The time in California was nice, but after two months, I was terribly bored and looking forward to getting back to China. Once I arrived, it was like I had never left, except now Shanghai was *freezing* cold! Not so nice to go from functional central heating, soft carpet floors, and soft beds with many blankets, to dysfunctional heated living spaces, freezing tile floors, uncomfortable beds and minimal bedding, but hey, you can't have everything.

After being back in Shanghai for a few weeks, Mike flew in on his virgin flight to Asia. We spent the next couple weeks trying to enjoy Shanghai, despite the lousy cold weather. Had some good times but in the end, we were more than happy to begin our journey south in hopes of warmer weather and actual sunny skies. Shenzhen here we come!

Mike's Thoughts:

Scott left out one of the more interesting parts of Shanghai...
Some lady tried to give me a handjob at one of the massage places.  It was actually in a good neighborhood near a crowded street.  If I had been willing to shell out 100 RMB, she probably would have been more than happy to oblige.  
Since I was jet-lagged for almost the whole time I was in Shanghai, I will have to report back...
