Today we are off to Arch's Iguana Farm.  The locals are killing all the iguanas and using them for Iguana stew.  Uggh.  So Mr. Arch, decided to try to save them from becoming extinct on the island by creating a sanctuary and breeding ground.  Now they have over 4,000 iguanas on the property.  On the way there was a young boy (maybe 9?) selling beer on the side of the road.  Check out the pics.  Obviously, not something we would see in CA!

As soon as we neared the area, we started seeing lots of iguanas.  They were EVERYWHERE!  I don't think you can truly understand unless you are there... but maybe if you watch Brody's face in the videos :).  He was scared to move in fear of stepping on one… maybe because Stace was yelling at everyone, "watch where you step!  Su...you are stepping on a tail!"  It was an unique experience to say the least.  We were kind of hoping to be able to hold them but had to settle on feeding the iguanas.  None the less, a fun experience.

We finished it off with the standard trip to the market.

When we got home, Stace and Brody took to our waters to work on Brody's snorkeling.  They had a great time.  Brody vastly improved and I took a few pics from our deck.

Fantastic pictures! I had no idea that there were so many kinds of Iguanas. What do they eat? Obviously no kids or Katie, Alex & Brodie would be Iguana food. And I guess they don't like chicken either! They obviously eat plants and I assume they also eat bugs.

The snorkeling looks fantastic! Does that make Roatan more fun than Costa Rica and Panama?

Moxie is doing great, and has not missed a turn at Dog Park yet. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday & Monday again. And she has had to spend almost no time in her crate. Have fun guys!

Cool pics. Showed them to my kids, Kira and Kyle, and now they want to go. Thanks for sharing! And hope to see you all soon!

If you step on the tail, and the tail falls off (like lizzards), then you have stew material without killing the Iguana, right? talking about "food for thoughts" (and yes, I am evil, as always)!

Good thing your veggie, so won't be eating iguana stew anytime soon.
