Where I stayed
Last night I arrived in Costa Rica!
Fittingly I stepped off the plane and it was raining and it never really stopped raining until this morning. I met up with Dr. Humphrey and another student at the airport and we took a taxi to the Maria Alexandra where we will be staying the next three weeks. Check out the pictures, its a pretty nice place.
This morning we went for a little hike. It ended up being a hour or so long as we trekked from our condos up the hill. We walked through neighborhoods and along busy streets. I also learned that the pedestrian does not have the right-of-way in Costa Rica... so watch out! On our hike we walked by two really pretty churches in San Jose.
This afternoon my roommates and I went to the Super Mercado to get food and snacks for our condo. It wasn't as bad as I expected and I ended up buying top ramen and frozen lasagna- sounds like my normal diet. BUT last night for dinner we ate at the Rosti Pollo which is a traditional chicken restaurant in Costa Rica because they cook the chicken over coffee plant branches. It was pretty good.
Tomorrow morning we are headed on a field trip of a coffee farm....
