Friday began with a 4 hour bus ride from Madrid...on the way I sat with Pablo, who kept me fascinated with stories of when he was the national champion of mountain biking in Spain, his terrible accident that left him with 2 broken collar bones, a broken wrist, and various other injuries that cut his career short, his family military history and having to change their name when the dictatorship ended...amazing. And when you first meet him you would think he's a pretty quiet guy, but if you listen he has a lot to say.

Davy is our MC, and along the way he gave us a mini-history and tour of the area, from the various occupations of Spain to the religious history (Spain has been Muslim, Jewish and Catholic!) and various points of interest. He also works as a guide in the south of Spain, so he is full of information!

Saturday night was our first skit presentation; Laura, Borja, Graham and I did one where a couple is dating (Laura and Borja), and their "thoughts" (me & Graham) stand behind them and interpret what they are really thinking...it was pretty funny, though a LOT of dialogue! That night there was a football game on, and the hotel doesn't get the channel it is broadcast on, so a bunch of us piled in to cars and headed in to town to a bar to watch the game and play some pool. Outside we ran in to the town pig, and so had to have a bit of a photo shoot of course. Later we all moved on to the disco, where the owner was so happy to have a group of us get the dancing started he gave us free shots!

Tonight was the Queimada, and after a bit of dancing in preparation for the fiesta tomorrow :)
