My time with my Spanish family has come to an end...this morning I left at 8am to catch the bus to La Alberca, the kids were still half alseep when I said goodbye while still tucked in to their beds. I was glad though, because it turns out I was actually a bit emotional about leaving, which surprised me. It took a while for us to get to know each other, and settle in to a routine, but in the end they were good kids. They made me laugh, and brought out a silly side to me, while challenging my ability to be creative and think on my feet (there's an idiom for the Spanish reading this!!).
Will I miss them? Do you want the truth or a lie....no, I won't really miss them. Because I am 30 years old, and dealing with someone else's spoiled 4 year old is just not in the cards for me at this point. I did much better with the 12 year old who could hold a reasonable conversation...in the end it was a great summer, and the cushiest job ever in the history of jobs! I think it is a record for sure. But 4 kids is a LOT, and reinforces why being an aunt is looking like a better option than having my own little terrors ;)
So, now it is off to La Alberca for my 4th Pueblo Ingles program...yes, yes I am addicted, what can I say. Pablo was supposed to be the program director this week, which would have been fun to have a familiar face, but he got switched. Hopefully the nice weather holds out for another week!
