Well, since I am writing this, I am obviously still alive, which means I survived my 30th! On Thursday night a group from the hostel decided I should be celebrating at midnight when it turned to June 2, so we went out to Horor bar. It's in a basement cave, and is decorated with skeletons and gravestones! Everyone in the bar sang happy birthday at 12, even though most of them had no idea who they were singing to. After one of the guys serenaded me in Czech, and drinks were free all night!

Friday was raining yet again (it has rained every day we have been in Czech R.), and the river was too high so we couldn't go rafting. Instead mom and I climbed the tower of the castle, which has an amzing view over the town. We had lunch at "the donut shop", a little cafe with amazing cheap food! Lunch for two: 2 bucks. In the afternoon we chilled out and took it easy, I dyed my hair purple (not as drastic as last years piercing). For dinner a group of us went to the Gypsy restaurant, had some great food and there was a little band that played. Quite loudly as it were, or maybe it is a sign of age. After we went to U Speka, the "rock" bar. It was quite the place, grafitti spray painted everywhere, and some very interesting characters. One guy was definitely dancing to his own tune, but hey he was having a great time. We played foosball with some goth locals, then carried on our way.

Last stop of the evening was the dance club. We got there a bit early as since it doesn't close till 6am, the party doesn't get started too early. By the time we got our drinks and got settled the dance floor was filling up. We didn't stay too late though as half of the crowd were excessively drunk tourists who decided to demostrate their pole dancing skills. And the music selection was hard to dance to. In the end the girls all left, and left our token male Antonio to carry on the party!

So, I had a wonderful day! Cesky Krumlov is a great place to chill out, it has a great vibe and everything is really laid back. I think it helped ease me in to my 30's!! Actually I feel really good, and am looking forward to seeing what the next step is and what is in store for me in the coming year!
