Last night I flew from Madrid to Milan, and tonight we fly to Prague! 3 countries in 24 hours is a bit crazy really. My mom arrived 2 days ago, so she had a bit more time to look around. We managed to see the Duomo, the Castle and wander some gardens though. Sadly we weren't able to see the painting of the Last Supper, as it is fully booked until the end of June! Unbelievable. I guess Dan Brown's book has increased the popularity slightly.

One day is definitely not enough time to get a feel for a city, but here is what I saw. I hit a traffic jam at one am coming in from the airport, which was a first for me! The "ladies of the night" might as well be naked for all their outfits cover. The people begging are the most aggressive I have seen anywhere, I was actually physically grabbed twice. That hasn't happened anywhere else. I think it was quite a shock for my mom who is used to the friendly chatty homeless people in the west end of Vancouver. I guess you do come to Europe for a new experience though!

I found it funny that all the Italian I had learned last fall when I spent a month in Itlaly went completely out the window coming from Spain. Not that I spoke much Spanish in Spain, but small things like please and thank you, and asking directions my brain was at a loss in Italy. Oh well, we are only here for a day really, then on to Prague!
