Friday I met my dad in London, and we started the tour of London! Usually when I am here I am meeting up with friends, and so I don't tend to see a lot of the sights. But since my dad hasn't been here in almost 40 years, we are doing a crash course on London! We started off by taking a hop-on and off bus tour. It was great, the weather was 25C and we sat on the upper deck in the sun wizzing around getting commentary on the various sites, and taking zillions of pictures of course.

From there we progressed to a boat cruise down the Thames, wandering Covent Garden, having a drinking in the Maple Leaf, walking through St James Park and Buckingham Palace, the London Dungeon, Tower Bridge, and the Tower of London. The Tower of London was amazing, this is where prisoners like Robert Dudley and Queen Elizabeth I were held, and Anne Boleyn was beheaded. It also has a fantastic display of the crown jewels, which are in a vault with a door that is about 18 inches thick!

Andrea joined us on Sunday for some of our wanders, and a lovely dinner at an Italian restaurant down the street from our hotel. The other highlight of the weekend for me was seeing STOMP on Saturday night! It was a combination of rhythm, dance, harmony and comedy in a great show. It's a great show for people who don't speak English, as there is no talking just sounds. It is crazy to see what you can do with a broom or just your own two hands!
