Today is May 2, which marks one whole year since I left my job!! Unbelievable. I guess much as most things in life, in some ways it seems like yesterday and like years in others. I do miss working with some of the people, and certain elements of the job, but certainly not the stress! For those of you that know the full story of my departure from the world of Mark's, who could have imagined on that day this is where I would be a year later? It reminds me that you should always keep your mind open to new possibilities.

At the same time, today is exactly one month until my 30th birthday!! Yikes. Actually, since I have had 11 months to prepare for it so far, I feel like I am coming around to acceptance. I was feeling the pressure of having my whole life figured out by this birthday, but really the most important thing is to enjoy the ride. Hence this trip. For those of you who have been there, it looks like I will most likely be in Cesky Krumlov on the big day, with the person who has loved me longest and best, my mom!

For those of you who have so kindly asked about gifts, I'm sure you will understand that while backpacking I require very few "things". Plus postage is a fortune, and where would you send it anyway?? If you would like to contribute to a gift, please feel free to make a donation on the link on this blog. The money goes directly to me, and will help fund part of my trip! As the trip starts to wind down (back on Canadian soil July 10), I want to say thanks to all who have read my meanderings and followed my trip. I hope you have enjoyed it, and got something out of it. The time and effort I have invested is definitely worth it in that case! Please consider signing the guest book, to let me know who has visited the site!
