After getting off the boat on Sunday, I have been here im Olimpos. The best description I can think of is it is like a great big summer camp! Set near the ruins of an ancient city. All along the main road are pensions, most with tree houses. The tree house idea has been mass produced though, so really most of them are little cabins on stilts. Still a very intriguing picture. The pensions spread for about 2 km, then yuo get to the entrance of the ancient city of Olimpos. From there it is about a 500 metre walk to the beach.

Sounds nice right; well it would have been, if I was able to walk! Unfortunately for the first 2 days I could hardly walk at all due to a foot infection. Which presents 2 problems: the first being that to see any of the sites around there, you need to be able to walk. The second, that there is no village or anything, just the pensions. So no banks, shops, doctors, etc. So no one with any expertise to look at my foot. Not really a big deal, as there was nothing seriously wrong with it, but my limited first aid kit was running thin! Anyways, today it is a lot better, so I will head out tomorrow to civilization and to re-stock.

I did manage to wander down to the beach today though, and see some of the ruins. Unfortunately some of them are off the main path and through the trees, and there was no way I could manage that. And I missed out on the Chimera, the eternal flame, as it's about 7 km from the camp. Oh well, you can't see and do everything right? Tomorrow I will head back to Kas, where we stopped on our boat tour, so I can go scuba diving!! Yeah!
