Cephalonia is a beautiful island. It's where they filmed the movie "Captain Corelli's Mandolin". We stayed in the small town of Sami. There was not much to do on the island but it was very relaxing. One day a group of us went to visit Antisamos Beach and our taxi driver, Giannis, pointed our Nicholas Cage's house and where the set had been for the movie. The beach was cold but the water was super clear and you could see all sorts of fish. My favorite part of the island is all the shops. I go get my yoghurt at one shop, my fruit at another and my nuts at a third. Its fun shopping like this and all the shopkeepers are very friendly. Cephalonia also has excellent sea food. We've eaten lots of mussels and fish while we've been here and it has all been excellent.

My favorite day was when we took a day trip to Ithaka. Ithaka was such a beautiful island and the boat ride there was lots of fun. At one point the driver stopped and let us all jump off the boat so we could swim in this little cove. It was absolutely amazing. Ithaka also had great shopping and really beautiful houses and churches.
