After a rather long 15 hour bus drive and a short taxi we arrive in the town of Foz de Iguacu on the Brazilan/Argentinian/Paraguayan border. We both were glad the guesthouse was nice and the area quiet so we could relax as both quite tired and stressed from getting there. Sao Paulo bus station was pretty hectic and only found out once getting to Foz that its the second busiest in the world!!

We only had a short stay at Iguacu so the next day we went to the national park to check out the waterfalls. On arriving there, we got mugged!!!...savagely mugged by a Coati Mundi!! Damn thing jumped up and stole our sandwiches out of our bag!! Never mind, we soldiered on and it didn't take long before we reached the magnificent waterfalls. The pictures in books etc doesn't do it justice, so glad Elly suggested coming here. We spent about an hour looking around, taking many photos before venturing onto the platform that goes into 'the Devils throat', a very misty wet part of the fall. Signs we ominous that people were coming off it drenched and there was also a poncho stall next to it. We both thought about buying one, but seeing as it was so hot and we were wearing beach wear anyway, we walked into the falls. The power of the water around us was amazing but we couldn't stay for too long as we were getting drenched!!

We headed back upto the main building wear the souvenir shops are and decided to eat what was left of our lunch...A packed of crisps and a drink. As soon as we rustled the pack guess what? A damn Coati Mundi came running out of nowhere! This time, much the wiser we moved and saved our food!! We got the bus back to town and grabbed some food before getting an early night as we had to fly out early next morning.

So a short stop, but well worth the 15 hour bus ride. Glad we had done it.
