The return to El Calafate was welcome after our adventure around the Fitz Roy. The laundrette, ice cream parlour and internet cafe in particular were highlights! Although annoyingly we were reminded of Argentinaīs complete lack of commercialism when the internet cafe, teaming with
tourists, kicked everyone out at 12:30 so that the staff could go for a nap!! Didnīt they know I was on Skype...how rude!!
This is possibly a good point to explain just how good the Argentinian ice cream is...AMAZING! I am not even the worldīs biggest ice cream fan (that title goes to my mum!) but this stuff is
brilliant. They have tons of flavours and it just tastes so good. Here are a list of some of our favs.... Calafate Berry ( This is a reddish purplish berry which grows in bushes in Patagonia) Banana with Dulce de Leche (caramel), Chocolate with hazlenut, strawberry yoghurt and many more!
