hello,

how are you? I am feeling much better. I am still quite ĻunstableĻ but the vomiting has ceased. And I found an internet cafe with a program that I need so I think that I can (finally) attach some photos of my life here in Central America. In truth, this discovery is the impetus for my update. Nothing too exciting is going on. This morning, one of the kids in my grade 6 class told me that I am ĻhorribleĻ and ĻaborrrringĻ and that he doesnīt like me. He then tried to take a survey in Spanish of the other kids to find out if they agreed with him. YES! GO EDUCATION! The good news is that many of them are away, I think because yesterday was All Saints Day and 1. they are tired from putting on masks and screaming in the streets (here, they seem to do halloween on 1 Nov, not 31 Oct) or 2. they are at church or 3. they are babies and donīt go to school. I am voting for the last option. Either way, I get to come here and try to upload photos.

(A woman just passed in front of my window with a huge bag of potatoes balanced on her head...)

I am going to try and attach the photo of the birthday cake from Danielīs party because it is hilarious and I mentioned it earlier.

I am also going to post a picture from our trek to the hot springs, as well as one from our trip to Esquipulas, the neighbouring Guatemalan town where the peace accords were signed and the site of the holy Black Christ church. I will also try to include the photo of a singing Honduran, our friend Max who gave us a lift to Copan Ruinas. Right after this karaoke serenade, he proceeded to speak to me in Spanish for twenty minutes about his daddy issues. Oh my... I am also going to put up one of me and Daniel in our halloween costumes.

talk soon,
Stephanie
