This morning, we left Atlanta and started to head 357 miles to Charleston. On our car trip we stopped in Savannah and Beaufort. Savannah is a historic town in Georgia, so we decided to do a short stop for lunch and walking to get a break from the driving. Another interesting road sight was that the interstate highway was marked as a hurricane highway. This means that when a hurricane arrives (in the summer season), the entire highway is a one-way exit !

In Savannah we had lunch at a place called the Kayak Kafe. They mostly serve sandwiches, salads and soups. Go to http://eatkayak.com for more information.

After lunch we walked alongside the Savannah River then drove to the town of Beaufort, which was about 1 hr drive along the coast. In Beaufort there are many old historic houses from the American revolution time period. Most of them were medical buildings for wounded soldiers and now privately owned. They must be worth $Millions.

After seeing the houses, we drove to Charleston. Here we are staying at the Ansonborough Inn.
http://www.ansonboroughinn.com. It used to be an old paper holding facility from 1901 and is named after Lord Anson, who was the 3rd Englishman to go around the globe.

When we arrived it was starting to get dark, so we went for dinner. So we walked down the street to a Thai food restaurant near the Inn. I had Pad Thai and my parents had Musumon Curry. It was delicious!

Once we got back to the Inn I immediately fell asleep. I was so tired!
