After breakfast, we took the subway to Brooklyn which is across the river. It is a much quieter place than New York. On our Brooklyn walk we saw some houses and a church that were built in the 1800s. Some famous writer and film maker lived here.
We walked across Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan to the Federal Hall on Wall Street. This is where George Washington took the oath as the 1st President of the United States. We saw some safes that held gold in the old days and the rest of the building was like a musuem. They had displays on Martha Washington and Alexander Hamilton.
I also saw the outside of the NYSE and the Federal Reserve where they store and print money. We walked around Trinity Church.
We had a yummy flat bread pizza lunch and then we took the subway to Central Park. There was a light thunderstorm so we took shelter in a castle at the park. We walked around in the park and took a ride on a musical carousel.
Then, we walked to St.Patricks Cathedral where we saw stained windows.
For dinner, my dad found a great Persian restaurant. We ate well and walked back to our hotel.
I think we walked ~ 10 miles today...my feet were dead.
