After a few days on my own, I already was looking forward to catching up with Romz & Russ again so I went to Vina del Mar to meet up with them. This is the closest beach town to Santiago and kind of the seaside holiday resort. We tried out the pacific ocean which was cold and super strong waves and current. We could only go 3 metres into the waves before the life guards would get there whistles out. I got tumbled a few times and then kept to shore. As usual some quite impressive sand sculptures, big on the sponge Bob theme in Vina!!!

Most of the days we spent walking along the streets or at the beach. I succesfully managed to burn myself pretty badly, lips, around my mouth and various parts where I hadn't smudged the cream on. As Russ says "burn and tan".

We treated ourselves to a couple of meals out for some seafood and a parilla. Yummy. And just for the record Paila is not chilean for Paella as we learnt after quite a misunderstanding, a very helpfull waitress and an upset chef.

Vina del Mar was a nice little break but there wasn't much to see or do really. I managed to accumulate a nice collection of sunburns

On the saturday, Dobbo and Trev were back with us. Famous 5 re-united!!! Only for a couple of days as the boys went up to the north of Chile to make the most of Peru and Bolivia before leaving after the rio carnival. Us lazy bums, still having 6 months left decided to across back over to Argentina towards the Brazilian coast

Not much to say about Vina del Mar. Don't think I would go back!!
