Today's blog is brought to you by Jiffy Lube because it will be quick.

Beautiful morning today--cool and sunny.  After grabbing a cappuccino and a croissant, I walked around window-shopping a bit.  I made my way to the top of the Spanish Steps and Trinita die Monti to pray with the community at the Fraternite Monastique de Jerusalem.  The noon prayers were heavenly:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-K708IkiKoA

I made my way to the metro and and headed towards Vatican City--but first had to stop at one of our favorite places for lunch.  It is a place that makes food in the Tuscan style.  I had a Roballito (bread/bean soup) and a veal picatta.  It was all quite delicious!

After lunch I headed toward St Peter's and stood in line to get in.  The crowd wasn't as bad as it could be . . . nor as huge as it will be on Wednesday morning for mass.  It's always a treat to make it here during our annual trip.  Today was no exception.  After making my way around and spending a few minutes in prayer I walked back to the hotel and took a few minutes to rest up before heading out to dinner.  My pedometer says I walked over 12,000 steps today (I don't believe it, though it probably was around 10,000).

I went back to Antica Enoteca and had another small plate of antipasti and a mushroom pizza---mmmm, delicious!

I'm back at the hotel and hopping to get to bed early as the train to Perugia leaves at 9:30am and I'd like to be on it.

So enjoy some more photos and stay tuned for another entry in the next couple of days

Happy Wednesday, everyone.
