The plane to Bangkok was pretty painful. I was pretty cramped in there.

We arrived in Bangkok at 4:30pm, completely jet lagged once again. We had to hurry because we were meeting up with our travel group at 6pm. We are travelling Thailand with a travel agency called G Adventures (formerly GAP Adventures). The group consists of young adults ranging from18 to 30. Our c.e.o ( tour leader) is named "First". He's a thai native. He seems like a cool dude.

We got our luggage and grabbed a cab to the hotel. First thing i thought was: :"I'm not in Kansas anymore".

We barely made it to the hotel in time, just enough to check-in, wash my face and then we met up with the group.

We are roughly 15 in the group. These people come from all over: English, Australia, Nebraska, Toronto, New Zealand... etc...

After filling our papers and introducing each other, we went out for supper and had some authentic thai cuisine.. We chitchatted it up and got to know our the others in group.

Afterwards we to this other place and the side of the street and drank some beers. Singha, the local beer. It's pretty good.

Around 10pm, our grouper leader, First, called it a night.

Thats when we hit Khao San road and that's where the craziness begin.

To get to Khao San road, we travelled by Touk touk... Touk touks are amazing, they are 3 wheelers with a wagon and you can fit about 5 people on board. We negociated a a price and took off. NEGOCIATION IS KEY IN THAILAND. Everybody does it, it's part of the Thai culture.

Khao San road is their main party street. The street is closed off to cars and filled with street vendors, restaurants, bars and tattoo parlours. We went to this place called the Lava. It was pretty cool inside but we mostly stayed outside on the street terrace. We drank a bucket. Basically, it's a sand bucket filled with the drink of your choice (mojito).

After getting drunk we ordered a plate of insects and ate them. Scorpions, grasshopper, larva, silk worms, you name it, we ate it.

I convinced a smaller group of 5 to come out with me to this club i read about online called Glow. I was sick of hearing all the trendy music being played at Lava. They must of played Gangnam style 5 times while we were there.

Its basically an EDM club. We travelled there by touk touk again. Glow wasnt bad, there was a decent amount of people and the music was much better than on Khao San road. There was a cover change but that included a free drink. We stayed there for a few drinks and then took a cab back to the hotel. We then walked a to a 7 Eleven for some late night grub and then called it night.

What an awesome first night. We have some cool people in our group and im looking forward to the rest of this trip.
